Treatment Modalities
for Chiropractic Patients

The following are some of the most common treatments your provider may utilize to treat your condition.

Spinal Manipulation Therapy

Manual or instrument adjustments to the spine mobilize restricted joints, release pressure on nerves passing between vertebrae, and quickly stretch tight muscles to relieve tension and facilitate optimal vertebral motion.

Interferential Therapy

Transcutaneous application of alternating medium-frequency electrical currents to alleviate pain, mainly of musculoskeletal origin, for muscle strength production, edema reduction, increased circulation, and tissue repair.

Ultrasound Therapy

Ultrasound uses sound waves to provide deep heating to the following soft tissue structures, tendons, muscles, or ligaments and has the following benefits, increased circulation, speeding up the healing process, decreased pain, and increased tissue elasticity.

Low Level Laser Therapy (Red Light Therapy)

Photobiomodulation (PBM) is a low intensity light therapy. Specific wavelengths of light trigger biochemical changes within cells and can be compared to the process of photosynthesis in plants, where the photons are absorbed by cellular photoreceptors and trigger chemical changes. LLLT is used for multiple clinical applications; reducing pain, decreasing inflammation, increasing circulation and accelerating weight loss.

Manual Therapy

Manual therapy uses the controlled movement and pressure of hands (sometimes utilizing bodywork tools) to treat various disorders of soft tissues and joints, improving joint mobility, alignment, tissue repair, lymphatic drainage, and traction.

Therapeutic Exercises

Physical therapy exercises specifically prescribed to patients to address structural issues often related to our daily activities, repetitive activities, and ergonomics at work. Building strength protects joints and the spine, reducing wear and tear and increasing stability.

Neuromuscular
Re-education

Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation PNF is a stretching technique utilized to improve muscle elasticity by stretching muscles to the end range, contracting/relaxing for ten seconds and repeating up to three times, and has been shown to have a positive effect on active and passive range of motion of joints.

Massage Therapy

Gentle pressure to stimulate muscle relaxation and circulation to warm up a muscle, reduce muscle tightness, decrease stress on joints from muscle tension and to reduce muscle guarding after injury or surgery. Sometimes referred to as Myofascial Therapy as this type of treatment releases the fascia, the connective tissue that surrounds tight muscles.

Extraspinal Manipulation Therapy

Manual or instrument adjustments to the extremity joints to regain full and painfree range of motion. Adjustments quickly stretch tight muscles to relieve tension and facilitate optimal joint motion.
